Oliver Geddes was one of the UK’s most respected Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belts — a lifelong martial artist, competitor and teacher whose influence reached far beyond the mats. He passed away last year after a short and brave battle with cancer.
We are honoured to continue releasing these recordings — not only to preserve his knowledge, but to celebrate his extraordinary contribution to the art and support the work of the Oliver Geddes Foundation.
Support gyms in financial difficulty
Strengthen community through shared initiatives
Preserve Oliver’s spirit of kindness, openness and connection
This clip builds on earlier material in the series and reflects the depth and simplicity that defined Oliver’s teaching. We will be releasing further lessons over the coming months.

Oliver’s legacy lives on in every roll, every lesson and every act of community on the mats.
