The Side Mount (or ‘Side Control’) was one of my favourite positions in the early stages of my Jiu-Jitsu.

As my game developed though, I began to focus more on getting to mount and the back mount, and neglected side control a little.

Recently I have been dealing with a knee injury that has forced me to return to the side mount, and this video outlines two principles that have made a huge difference to my success with it over recent months.
